In May of 1967, Catherine moved to New York City and lived there until 1975.  While in New York, she worked as a secretary — first at a ship brokerage company in Rockefeller Center, then at NBC at 30 Rock, but stayed in touch with people in the shipping industry.  In 1973, she joined Teekay Shipping, a company operating oil tankers.  In the fall of 1975, Catherine moved to Los Angeles, California, with J. Torben Karlshoej, President of Teekay Shipping.  Torben and Catherine were married in 1977.  They have one daughter, Caroline, mother of Nathan Phillip Ludtke, their grandson.  After her divorce, Catherine and her daughter, Caroline, returned to southern Wisconsin in 1986.  She completed her Bachelor’s Degree at Edgewood College in Madison.  Catherine now lives in Roscoe and is a legal assistant in Chicago, commuting on METRA from Harvard every day.
